THREE employees of the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) are expected to appear in the Lusaka Magistrates Court for allegedly stealing more than K30, 000 property of RTSA.

Christopher Chawinga, 30, data base administrator of Ngwerere; Keyworth Mukuni, 39,  adminstrator (information technology) of Chilenje and Mayela Mvula, 43, driver are expected to appear before Magistrate Jennipher Bwalya after they were arrested for the subject offence.

The trio, who are on bond, could not take plea yesterday as they were not brought before court but are expected to appear in court early this week.

Chawinga, Mukuni and Mvula were arrested without warrants on December 14 last year and were released on bond.

Statement of offence in count one is theft by public servant contrary to Section 272 of the laws of Zambia.

It is alleged that the three RTSA employees on unknown dates unknown but between December 1 and 2 last year, jointly with others unknown, being persons employed by RTSA  did steal K31,317  cash which came into their possession by virtue of their employment.

Statement of offence in count two is theft contrary to 272 of the laws of Zambia.

The trio are alleged to have on the same dates allegedly stolen the said amount, property of their employer, without lawful authority.
