Local R&B singer Twenda Sikazwe popularly known as Twezi the Mbala Mafia returned from his music tour of the United States of America where he had been for three months.
The singer, who went for shows and a music exchange programme courtesy of MR.Chix Entertainment, a music label based there, described his stint as successful and an eye opener.
“It was a big success because I managed to achieve my goals. Firstly, it was important for me to realize that Zambian music is now part of the people there and are very much in support of it. This is all because of the Zambians leaving there. They are pushing a lot of our music,” he said.
Twenda added that it was particularly important for him to taste a competitive market and collaborate with other African music stars based in the US.
He said while there, he managed to record a good number of songs and features which are scheduled for his new album this year.
“With the lessons learnt, I am optimistic my music will grow and have a different level,” says Twezi who is also a professional chef intending to open a food outlet in Lusaka later this year.
