Patriotic Front (PF) Mazabuka Central constituency chairlady Joyce Kangwa has advised the opposition UPND to stop instituting political violence against other political parties.
Ms Kangwa said she will accept the judgment of the Mazabuka magistrate court to acquit the UPND cadre who was apprehended for harassing her and stripping her last month.
She said that the PF wanted to maintain peace with everyone and would respect the decisions by the court. “We will accept the judgment made by the court to acquit the UPND cadre since he was not the one who twisted my arm; we as PF want to maintain peace with everyone and the UPND should avoid such violent schemes, ‘’ she said.
And PF Southern Province provincial secretary Moses Ngosa said the party would accept the ruling by the court and that it would not interfere with the course of the law. “We will accept the ruling by the court as a party and we will not interfere with what the law says on the matter,” he said.
He said despite many people alleging that the PF had control over the law this was clear evidence that the ruling party and its members were like any other citizens below the law.
“ This should prove to all Zambians who think we are favored by the law; they should know that we are like any other citizens below the law. This should also be an example of the humility that the party has,” he said.
Mr Ngosa said the PF was a peaceful party that did hold any grudges against anybody, adding that it was unfortunate that the opposition UPND always wanted to get in its (PF)way.
