Pious living brings about peace in society, to be pure before the Lord, it should not be a periodical effort but an everyday desire for a believer.
Purity of the heart is what is required of all Christians, regardless of our title in rank and file. From the highest in rank, to the lowest in the Christian circle. All of us called by His name, as Sons of God (Mathew 5:9). God is not a respecter of position but each person commitment to the works of an individuals directed by the Holy Spirit.
There is sanctity in laying of hands on the newly consecrated member of the church as a blessing. But, the general public will doubt the sanctity of the procedure if they know the wrong doing of the person laying hands on the new person of God. The public will doubt the presence of holiness in such a situation. Spiritually, the process may be declared null and void. This is the reason why purity should be always the aim of every Christian.
This holiness comes about if the person doing wrong takes the necessary steps to be pure in the presence of God, for where there is no purity in the heart, then there is no holiness in such a heart. It is written in 2nd Timothy 2:22, thus: “flee also youthful lusts but follow righteous, faith, charity, peace with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
A pure heart is gentle as it corrects others and save them from the instructions of the devil and as it enjoys the companionship of those who call upon the Lord with equally a pure heart. Indulging in sinful acts and at the same time laying hands on people for reasons of healing and casting away demons, is total insecurity on the part of a person behaving in such a manner, because the bible says that such powers are only in people that are pure.
Another emphasis on good behavior in the church of God is in 1st Timothy 3:15. There should be no entertaining of sin among those who believe in the Lord God Almighty and His Son, Christ Jesus our Saviour. The Church of God is the church of living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. Remember, the church is the believer in God Almighty and His Son Jesus Christ.
Believers are required to be sober characters, given to hospitality and always able to teach, this is according to 1st Timothy 3:2. As it is written in Psalms 11:10 that “fear of the Lord is beginning of wisdom.” In this case, fear of the Lord, is actually the believers desire to abiding by the commands of God is to refuse sin. Leading to purity of the heart.
According to the book of Timothy 1:15, to the pure all things are pure. A person can therefore create in his or her mind a pure mind. The mindset that is pure, will only produce purity. In the same way, a mindset that is impure will produce impurity. What is not pure in the presence of God, is what is sinful.
As believers in Christ Jesus, Son of God, we cannot be allowed to serve Satan. We cannot serve two masters at the same time; we love one and hate the other (Mathew 6:24). As Galatians 6:7 states, God is never mocked. You will reap what you sowed. Believers should be wise enough only to sow truth and harvest everlasting life.
To continue in wrong doing, is to deny Jesus and our claim to believe in the Lord will serve us no purpose at all, as we shall gain nothing at the end of time. Simple stated by our Lord Christ Jesus our Saviour, that if we deny Him in the presence of multitudes (the people) he will also declare not knowing us in the presence of his Father, God Almighty (Mathew 10:33).
If we know and realize that we are not pure in heart, then we should pray for rebirth of our heart. In the book of 2nd Timothy 2:15, the Holy Book says “Do your best to win full approval in God’s sight, as a worker who is not ashamed of his work, one who correctly teaches the message of God’s truth. It is required of those appointed to teach on matters of our Lord God Almighty and His Son Jesus Christ, only to teach the truth, because only true teaching will help believers to attain purity of their hearts.
A pure message of Christ is the truth and those who deliver such teaching must be pure in heart. Purity of the heart goes with understanding of holiness of God and why sin is not entertained in heaven. To have the knowledge of God is a step ahead in attaining purity, because then we shall learn what is most important in a life of a believer, and that is obeying the commands of God. What is to be our behavior should therefore reflected by what we teach about Christ Jesus and our Father God Almighty. We should avoid hypocrisy, as this we lead us to negative behaviors and causes us to reap what is negative and not beneficial to ourselves.
Our love for our Father Lord God Almighty can best be experienced by our ability to deny Satan. We should resist the devil in every way possible. It is by denying the devil that God shall make us pure. In James 4:8, the Bible says “come near to God, and He will come near to you. Wash your hands you sinners, purify your hearts, you hypocrites. This word hypocrite is not a very welcome word among Christians.
As believers, we should not be in the habit of teaching truth and yet do the opposite.
Many believers have given up their faith due to the same word “Hypocrisy.” The behavior that is hypocritical is against God’s will. The will of God is that, those who teach and preach His Word should have the character of the believer, as it is stated in several scriptures of the holy book the Bible.
In the book of Exodus 19:10, the holy book says; and the Lord said to him, “Go to the people and tell them to spend today and tomorrow purifying yourselves for worship,” and in verse 22 it reads, “Even the priests who come near me, must purify themselves, or I will punish them.” Those were the words of the Lord on purity. It is Gods demand that believers remain pure even as they praise and worship Him.
Purity before our Father, Lord God Jehovah Jireh is required, as this pleases God. In the Book of Titus 1:15-16, purity sounds to be easy to attain for those believers who love God, but to unbelievers, purity is not easy to be attained. Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But there is nothing pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving. An earnest prayer of forgiveness can render a Christina pure.
In Exodus 33:17; the Lord said to Moses, “I will do just as you have asked, because I know you very well and I am pleased with you.” What is God saying to us believers? Is the Lord repeating the same words He said to Moses, to us as well? How happy that the Lord is saying to us that He is totally in agreement with whatever we are requesting Him to do for us, because he know us very well. He knows our intentions and attitudes are pleasing before Him.
Jesus Christ calls those who are pure in themselves as his family, because he is not ashamed of them. In Hebrews 2:11, it is written that if Jesus Christ who will make His followers Holy (Pure). Let is therefore remain in faith and Jesus will cause us to be pure. It is the duty of every believer to be obedient to Jesus Christ, find love and peace in him. Only then, when we pray, God Almighty Jehovah Jireh, will hear us in His home in heaven, He will hear our prayer, then he will say to us as he said to Moses, “I will do Just as you have asked, because I know you very well and I am pleased with you.” Amen!
