OVER SPEEDING MINI BUS KNOCKS DOWN 15 YEAR-OLD CHAWAMA BOY

AN over speeding mini bus driving on the wrong side of the lane on the Chawama Road in Lusaka left a 15year old boy severely injured on Wednesday after it knocked him down.

Witnesses told the Daily Nation Newspaper that it all began when the driver of the minibus bus wanted to overtake other vehicles and in the process knocked down a boy who was selling fritters by the roadside.

An eyewitness Ms Martha Kabwe said after the boy was knocked down, residents of Chawama later beat up the driver before taking him to the Embassy Police Post.

“The incident was as a result of careless driving by the driver; they don’t care about children using the same road. The driver was beaten by residents, I hope this will be a lesson to other drivers who do the same,” she said.

She further explained that a Good Samaritan ferried the injured boy to the hospital.
