The Patriotic Front in North-Western Province has distanced itself from statements and actions taken by their provincial chairman Emmanuel Chihili saying he is being used by the opposition to create chaos in the party
Members of the Provincial Executive Committee have expressed displeasure at the way Mr Chihili is allegedly abusing his office as provincial chairman.
In an interview with Daily Nation, Charity Mulemena said Mr Chihili was only interested in pushing a selfish agenda on behalf of the opposition.
Ms Mulemena said the provincial executive committee has never sat down to discuss candidates or dissolution of any committees in the province.
“We have never sat down to discuss as a committee, Mr Chihili is busy making decisions alone and expects all of us to just nod in agreement but that won’t happen,” she said.
Ms Mulemena said it was wrong for Mr Chihili to dissolve committees or impose any one as a candidate for 2016 in any constituency without the knowledge of the provincial executive committee.
“Mr Chihili is working alone, he thinks he is PF in North Western province that is why he is working the way he is doing.
“What is even worse is he has gone as far as lying that his decision to impose candidates has the blessing of the President, all those are lies, I have been in communication with our secretary general Davies Chama and he is not aware of any sole candidates imposed in North Western Province” she said.
She said the provincial chairman was a threat to the party in the province who is going out of his way to jeopardise the party’s chances in 2016.
