Stakeholders should join hands in spearheading the campaign to make Zambia clean, says the Zambian Reliance for Keep Zambia Clean and Healthy Campaign Organization (ZRKZCHCO) president Christopher Manda.
He was speaking when his organization donated assorted items to the University Teaching Hospital worth more than K10,000 in line with the organization’s community social responsibility programme.
Mr Manda said his organization in partnership with other companies like Trade Kings, Noor Investment and Gatbrow International donated the cleaning items to bring the festive mood to patients’ hospital beds.
‘’The festive season is a time of sharing and as an organization we saw it fit to donate to patients assorted items and cleaning materials in line with our vision of ensuring a smart Zambia,’’ he said..
UTH senior medical superintendent, Dr Ben Chirwa, said the hospital was highly honoured by such a gesture as it put smiles on the faces of patients.
He said UTH as the biggest hospital in the country had a mandate to offer highly specialized care to the public in a caring, competent and clean environment.
The Keep Zambia Clean organization in October 2015 donated two boreholes and cleaning materials to New Soweto market in Lusaka.
It is an indigenous NGO formed in 2007 to enhance the wellbeing of Zambians by strengthening the participation of stakeholders in ensuring a clean environment for all.
