NSCZ has no business in Kalu probe by ACC

The National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) says it will not be dragged into FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya probe by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) because the FAZ chief is responsible for his actions.

NSCZ chairman Mwamba Kalenga said since the matter was being dealt by ACC, his council could not be seen to working against the investigative wing of Government by commenting on the probe.

Kalenga said FAZ and the council were government bodies and could not be seen to working against each other.

“NSCZ has nothing to do with Kalusha and myself personally because I don’t want to be seen to be compromising or fuelling the issue,” he said.

“I should not be seen to fuelling the situation; moreover the FAZ president is an adult who is responsible for his actions. We are also following the probe debates in the newspapers as we have not been officially communicated to. It is now the baby of ACC,” he said

He was reacting to a story carried out by the Daily Nation sports on Thursday page in which it was stated that NSCZ could not ban Kalu over the probe.
