SABMiller Zambia has appointed Faith Mukutu as its new finance director.
A fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), Ms. Mukutu has been with the SABMiller business for over 10 years.
And commenting on her appointment, Zambian Breweries managing director, Annabelle Degroot, said: “I am very pleased that Faith is joining us. This appointment strengthens and broadens the executive management team at an important time for the group as we continue to focus on business performance and value creation,
“Her strong financial background, coupled with her extensive business experience, prepares her well for this critical leadership role within the group,” said Ms Degroot
Ms Degroot said Ms Mukutu would be responsible for the group’s three businesses in Zambia – Zambian Breweries Plc; National Breweries Plc and Heinrich’s Syndicate Limited.
Ms Mukutu is a chartered accountant with more than 12 years of practical experience participating in SABMiller’s fast-track programme to gain skills and experience across different markets and sectors before bringing those skills back to Zambia, her home country.
She joined Zambian Breweries Plc in June 2005 as a management accountant.
In 2008, she was promoted to the position of finance director for SABMiller’s Malawi Chibuku operation. She was later transferred to the group’s clear beer business in Lesotho in the same capacity.
“Our employees remain our enduring advantage; therefore talent development sits at the core of our business. We create a deliberate path for talent building by exposing our employees to other SABMiller businesses on the continent in order for the business to prepare employees to hold leadership roles in both Zambia and abroad,” said Ms Degroot.
