Kabimba begs for votes

Rainbow Party leader Wynter Kabimba has urged Zambians to vote for him in the coming Presidential elections and remove the Patriotic Front government from power as it is allegedly selfish.

Mr Kabimba said this when he was addressing his supporters outside Lusaka Magistrate’s Court.

He told his supporters that he was happy that the election date had been set as August 11, 2016 so that Zambians go to the polls and get rid of the ruling PF which was his target.

Mr Kabimba claimed that even PF members were not happy as it was only a few who were benefiting from the party.

This was after the case in which he is jointly charged with the Post Newspapers proprietor Fred M’membe for alleged contempt of court and publishing defamatory statements against former President Rupiah Banda.

The case however failed to take off for the second time due to the absence of the trial magistrate.

Mr Kabimba and Mr M’membe, jointly charged with criminal libel and contempt of court in relation to a published article concerning Mr Banda, were expected to open their defence after they were earlier found with a case to answer.

The article was entitled ’‘Lungu is framing Nchito to cover Rupiah’s criminality – Kabimba’’, and was published in the Post Newspaper of February 13 last

They told Principal Resident Magistrate Kenneth Mulife said they would give their evidence on oath and bring witnesses.
