New constitution meets benchmarks

President declared Zambia a Christian Nation, they were among the first to denounce the declaration, declaring that Zambia was not a theocracy and that a lay President could not dabble in religion.

Here is a man who tr I spent the whole night listening to the debate on the constitution and I am relieved that amendments were made to some of the clauses which would have created serious financial and legal problems.

The s of proportional representation and  regional assemblies are quite novel and interesting but very hard to implement in relation to cost given the current financial crisis.

I would agree that the best way forward is to demarcate the huge constituencies to give closer representation than create new structures that will cost more money than we already have.

I salute Parliament for their resilience.
