The appeal for voter-registration continues under the Triple V Campaign which has for the last three months been working with popular artistes to encourage youths to register to vote.
Macky2, Afunika, SlapDee, Kachanana, B-Flow plus more have all taken part in this campaign but crowning it all next week on the 18th in Kitwe will be Chef 187 and songstress Judy Yo.
Event organisers, a consortium of non-governmental organisations namely Zambia National Women’s Lobby (ZNWL), Anti-Voter Apathy Project (AVAP), Operation Young Vote (OYV) and Young Women in Action (YWA)aimed at addressing voter apathy amongst young people in Zambia by encouraging them to register as voters, inspect their details on the voter register and finally go out and vote during the 2016 elections. They planned to do this through engaging famous artists and the concerts held so far have drawn huge crowds.
The Kitwe concert which features Chef and Judy Yo will be at Wusakile Grounds, starting 14 hours.
It will mark the end of the first phase of the campaign and therefore is hoped to attract huge crowds considering Chef 187 has deep roots and following on the Copperbelt.
Several other top artists including dancers and entertainers are expected to offer support to the two artists who are both making their way to the campaign for the first time
