UK-based Zambian journalist Gershom Ndhlovu dies

UK-based Zambian journalist Gershom Ndhlovu has died. He was 51.

Mr  Ndhlovu died at a hospital in Basingstoke, London, on Sunday afternoon.

The former Zambia Daily Mail editor recently presented a popular online talkshow known as Crossfire Blogtalk Zambia which focussed on Zambia, especially the political climate in the country, interviewing various top political figures.

His presenters Eric Kamocha and Mueti Moomba took to social media to pour out their hearts on the passing of an accomplished fearless writer.

“Announcing with great sadness @GNdhlovu’s passing on 22nd Nov 2000hrs GMT my big brother friend & mentor. He will be sadly missed,” Kamocha’s tweet reads.

Moomba’s Facebook status reads, “it is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing on of my uncle, Gershom Ndhlovu one of the greatest writers and bloggers from Zambia this evening at 20:00hrs GMT.”

Apart from being a regular blogger, and talkshow host, Ndhlovu was a regular contributor to Global Voices Online on Zambia – a Netherlands-based online news outlet.
