THE Zambia Police have completed investigations into the mysterious shooting at the Post Newspaper and a forensic report will soon be released, Lusaka Province Police Commissioner Charity Katanga, has said,
Mrs Katanga told the Daily Nation yesterday that the police had concluded the investigations into the shooting incident at the Post Newspaper offices along Bwinjimfumu Road and that a forensic report was being compiled.
She said as soon as the report was ready there would be a statement to inform the Post and Zambians about what had happened at the newspaper.
“We have concluded the investigations into the shooting incident at the Post Newspaper and we are only waiting for the compilation of a forensic report from Force Headquarters. As soon as the report is ready, we will let you know about what could have happened,” Mrs Katanga said.
And Mrs Katanga has said that it had become ‘‘a notorious fact’’ that the Patriotic Front (PF) and the United Party for National Development (UPND) cadres were hoisting their party flags in most of the trading places across the country. Mrs Katanga said the hoisting of party regalia in trading and other public places had the potential to cause chaos in the country as cadres from the competing political parties could easily clash over superiority.
Making a submission at the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) stakeholders meeting yesterday, Mrs Katanga said the police was concerned with party regalia that had indiscriminately been hoisted in public places.
