Kitwe Councilor in Court for selling house to two people

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Chibote ward Councilor Webster Malama yesterday appeared in Court for obtaining money on false pretences after he allegedly sold one house to two people.

Copperbelt Provincial Police Commanding Officer Joyce Kasosa confirmed that Mr Malama was arrested for obtaining money on false and yesterday appeared in the Kitwe Magistrate Court.

‘I don’t know when he was arrested, but what i can tell you is that Councilor Webster Malama appeared in Court today for obtaining money on false pretences. He sold one house to two people and the amount involved is K102,00,’ Ms Kasosa said.

And Ms Kasosa has also disclosed that 13 people were on Tuesday night arrested in connection with the illegal allocation of plots in Kitwe and are currently in police custody.

She said a combination of council officers and State Police arrested 13 people in connection with the illegal allocation of land in the area.

‘Yes, i can confirm that 13 people were arrested in connection with the illegal allocation of plots and investigations are being carried regarding the matter,’ She said.
