PEOPLE against the day for national prayers are Satanists and should repent now, National Revolution Party president Cosmo Mumba has charged.
Dr. Mumba told the Sunday Nation, that it was shocking that some individuals and opposition political party leaders were against the day of national prayers for reconciliation, repentance, unity and peace called by President Edgar Lungu. He said it was time for the people against the call for national prayers to come out and state their position whether they were for Satan or Christ.
“The President has made it clear that the prayers for today are for reconciliation, repentance and to seek unity and peace ahead of the 51st Independence anniversary which falls this week. But they want to deliberately mislead the nation that President Lungu specifically wanted the prayers to be conducted to pray for the economy,” Dr. Mumba said. He said only people who did not believe in God would oppose the call by President Lungu for national prayers.
He said it was not the first time national prayers were being conducted in the country, wondering why some opposition political party leaders have opposed the call.
“They must tell us where they belong. It is simple. If they don’t want to be part of the people gathering to pray for peace then they are the people planning anarchy in the country. If they don’t want to be party of the prayers they must know that they are bitter people and these are the things President Lungu has been talking about.
“The Head of State has made it clear that there is too much bitterness in the country; he has said there is too much hate in the country. We don’t seem to see good things in whatever Government is doing, hence to turn to God to open our eyes in order that we see what is evil or what is good. But these people are refusing, they want to continue living in total darkness with the devil,” Dr.Mumba said.
