The Daily Nation Newspaper wishes to engage a Market Research Consultant or firm to undertake a Market Research study. The study will enhance the papers capacity in meeting the information and business needs of its readers and advertising clients.
This role will take the lead on helping to shape and inform our “editorial” policy and content themes that resonates with various customer segments and spheres of its operation and coverage (i.e. political news coverage, gender related content, entertainment and general news coverage).
The Researcher will thus be expected to be both creative and quantitative in this role and will have preferably a proven track record of understanding media marketing trends and newspaper readership needs. This will further require a combination of marketing and publishing mind set to help lead the development of content initiatives to drive new and current business.
Develop a clear and coherent general market analyses that will help to deliver insights regarding market and competitive trends and other data-driven analyses within the papers sphere of operation and market.
Gather and use data from different internal and external sources and turn it into insights that will enable the newspaper to better appreciate its various opportunities and to make proposals on using this information and knowledge to enhance its business potential.
In this position, the Market Research Consultant or firm is expected to be an expert on primary research and have the responsibility to Identify, develop, and execute a portfolio of research methodologies to support the Market Research inquiry. This would include the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research, as well as leading the synthesis to learn from this project, and to help the paper identify appropriate actions to be taken from the research.
