CHIPOLOPOLO interim national coach George Lwandamina has summoned six foreign based professionals to join the squad that will play Egypt in an international friendly slated for October 11 in Dubai.
FAZ spokesman Nkweto Tembwe said the match was in line with the association’s resolve to keep the Zambia national soccer team active on every FIFA sanctioned date for international friendlies.
“In view of this friendly, coach George Lwandamina has summoned six foreign-based professionals to join the team that will travel to the Middle East,” Tembwe said.
Tembwe named those summoned as Collins Mbesuma, Kennedy Mweene, Stoppila Sunzu, Lubambo Musonda, Rainford Kalaba and Nathan Sinkala.
He said the locally-based players would converge in Lusaka on Sunday, October 4, to commence training for the Dubai assignment.
Tembwe said Zambia would use the match to prepare for the two assignments that were on the calendar this year.
“On Wednesday, November 11, Zambia has a FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Sudan at the Khartoum Stadium in Sudan,” he said.
Tembwe said the match would kick off at 20.00 Sudanese time. He said that on October 17, Zambia would meet Mozambique in the first leg of the final qualifying round of the CHAN 2016 Rwanda finals at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Zambia’s road to Moscow 2018 begins with a second round qualifying tie against regular World Cup foe Sudan at the end of this year. This will be Zambia and Sudan’s fourth meeting in a World Cup qualifier.
