PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has urged the United Nations (UN) to initiate follow-up action and review processes on programmes pertaining to poverty reduction to achieve sustainable development.
He was speaking at the United Nations summit on the post 2015 development agenda.
“I call upon the UN to initiate follow up actions and review processes to promote cross-pollination of ideas and exchange of best practices. This will help attain higher global outcomes on Sustainable Development Goals and the post-2015 development agenda,” President Lungu said. President Lungu re-affirmed Government’s commitment to embracing a common development agenda which would help enhance development partnerships among member states.
He said Zambia appreciated the input from important developmental processes that had contributed to the success of the new development agenda, notable among them the Third International Conference
