THE Patriotic Front (PF) is shocked that Rainbow Party leader Wynter Kabimba has risen to defend himself that he did not kill former president Michael Sata when he had not been accused by anyone of being responsible for the death of the former head of State.
PF secretary general Davis Chama said all the PF was aware of was that Mr Kabimba totally shunned the funeral of late president Sata when he had proclaimed to the nation and entire world that he (Kabimba) was the true disciple of the late president.
Mr Chama told the Daily Nation that the ruling party was surprised that Mr Kabimba had threatened to sue Information and Broadcasting Minister Chishimba Kambwili over Bemba idioms which did not in any way insinuate that the Rainbow Party leader was responsible for Mr Sata’s death.
He said at no time did Mr Kambwili mention Mr Kabimba in his Bemba idioms over the death of Mr Sata and that the ruling party was wondering how Mr Kabimba had identified himself in the Bemba sayings.
Mr Chama said Mr Kambwili was talking about former general secretaries in the PF and that the ruling party has had many secretary generals starting with Edwin Lifwekelo who was the party’s first secretary general after its formation.
He said former vice-president Guy Scott, UPND presidential spokesperson Edward Mumbi and President Edgar Lungu had once been secretary generals of the PF and that none of them had responded to Mr Kambwili’s idioms during the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) Sunday Interview programme.
Mr Chama said President Lungu was asked to aspire for the PF presidency after the death of Mr Sata and that the PF was aware that some of the leaders in the PF
