‘Mighty’ Mufulira Wanderers came from behind to beat Lusaka Dynamos 3-1 in a Week 24 Super Division electrifying match played yesterday at Lusaka’s Sunset Stadium.
Lusaka Dynamos who were searching for a rare win against Wanderers started the first half on a high note and took the lead in the fourth minute through Conlyde Luchanga.
The Lusaka outfit continued to press for a second goal but Wanderers defence remained solid.
However later Wanderers increased the rhythm of the game after 20 minutes of play and terrorised the Lusaka Dynamos defence.
Their efforts were rewarded in the 30th minute when Chisopa Malama headed in an Eric Chibuye cross.
The Manfred Chabinga tutored side took advantage of Lusaka Dynamos weak defence to add a second goal five minutes later through a cracker outside the box by Jacob Ngulube.
In the second half, Wanderers was in full force and camping in Lusaka Dynamos own half.
Wanderers final goal came in the 58th minute after Chibuye tapped in a Mike Katiba sublime cross. Wanderers maintain their fifth position on 38 points on the premier league while Lusaka Dynamos has 28 points.
Meanwhile, substitute Moses Phiri’s curly free kick goal in the 60th minute was enough for Zanaco to emerge triumphant over Nkana FC at Sunset Stadium.
The first half kicked off on a thrilling note but with both teams firing blunt shots at goal.
Nkana’s striker Walter Bwalya missed a clear chance in the 30th minute when his thunderbolt went wide after an interchange of passes with Simon Bwalya.
Two minutes later, the Wusakile boys came close to scoring but Bwalya’s chip hit the woodwork and Nkana goal minder Scott Ngokene was quick to receive the ball.
Zanaco entered the second half more poised for a goal but Aubrey Funga failed to convert three clear chances.
Coach Numba Mumamba decision to substitute Funga for Moses Phiri in the 50th minute paid off giving the team the only goal.
Nkana supporters looked disappointed after their team failed to equalise despite the numerous scoring chances.
Zanaco is second placed on 49 points; two above Power Dynamos while Nkana is ninth on 31.
