THE Government will accept well founded criticism intended to build the well being of the nation Agriculture and Livestock Minister Given Lubinda has said.
The Patriotic Front Government under President Edgar Lungu he said, would always value the support that the church rendered.
Speaking when he graced the 50 years jubilee celebration of Linda Parish in Livingstone on Sunday, Mr Lubinda said Government appreciated the work of the church.
Mr Lubinda said Government would support all churches without discrimination.
“We support all churches for their immense contribution to turning people to God and in supporting the community. Church leaders should criticise government when it is going in the wrong direction. Without criticism from the church, Government cannot perform. We want you as church to criticise us positively not like the way others do it,” he said.
Earlier, Catholic Diocese Bishop Raymond Mpezele said the celebration of Linda’s 50 years was the biggest event to the diocese. Reverand Mpezele urged Christians to allow themselves be used by God.
He said God works through people to deliver his message.
The bishop said God works to bring happiness in communities. He encouraged the congregants to allow God to use them to reach out to others.
The parish was established in 1965.
