OPPOSITION UPND president Hakainde Hichilema’s special advisor Douglas Syakalima should stop hallucinating about things he does not understand, says Youth in Action for Sustainable Development (YASD) programme manager Zebedy Lukwesa.
Mr Lukwesa said Mr Syakalima’s bitterness towards President Edgar Lungu will not take him anywhere as the coverage he (Syakalima) was receiving from the Post newspaper will soon end.Responding to Mr. Syakalima’s sentiments calling on President Lungu to “take pure rest of sleep and not alcohol because everything in the country was also dozing”, Mr Lukwesa said the UPND senior official should not be too excited. He assured Mr Syakalima that although he was currently enjoying coverage from the Post newspaper, this marriage would not last forever as he would be ditched after the paper had achieved its goal.
Mr. Lukwesa said the youths were not interested in politics of insults and finger-pointing but expected politicians to tell the nation what they would do to alleviate the challenges that the country was facing by offering solutions.
“As Youth in Action for Sustainable Development, we would like to air our disappointment on the continuous insults on President Lungu, including the latest on 22nd August 2015 in the Post newspaper by Mr Syakalima.
“We are warning UPND not to be too excited by the recent coverage they are enjoying in the Post to continue attacking the elected President who holds the highest office in the land,” Mr. Lukwesa said. He noted that insults would not take Zambia forward adding that politicians needed to conduct themselves in a manner that would be acceptable to all Zambians.
“You know as long as you speak against the President, the Post newspaper is going to cover you because they have hatred for the President, owing to the fact that they have failed to manipulate him the way they did to other past presidents whom they controlled,” he said.
“As for Mr Wynter Kabimba, he should be the last person to talk against the Government because he was in it until he was fired.”
