NKANA coach Aggrey Chiyangi says the 2-0 win over Green Eagles on Saturday has built confidence in the team as they face Power Dynamos in this weekend’s match at Arthurs Davies Stadium.
Chiyangi said the team’s target was to continue climbing up the log and to finish the 2015 Super Division league season on a better position.
He was happy that the hard training the boys went through paid off with a good result.
“I am happy we have won. It is good for the team so that we can keep climbing up the log and this is what we wanted. The win is a morale booster to the team because we will be playing a very important game against Power Dynamos,” he said.
Chiyangi commended the players for playing according to instructions and defending well.
“It is fulfilling as a coach when your players follow your instructions and get a win. I am happy with the endurance level exhibited in this game,” he said.
Meanwhile, Green Eagles coach Justin Chinama said his central defence was leaking and gave space for Nkana to score.
“We allowed easy goals. We did not defend well especially in central defence, which is where we went wrong. This is a bitter loss; we thought we should have maintained the same spirit like in the previous match against Mufulira Wanderers,” he said.
Green Eagles is lying on eighth position with 28 points but a goal difference better than Nkana on ninth position.
