THE adoption of Kelvin Sampa as Patriotic Front candidate for the forthcoming parliamentary by-election in Kasama Central constituency has finished Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM)’s political career, PF deputy secretary general Mumbi Phiri has said.
Ms. Phiri said GBM was a finished politician and the adoption of Mr. Sampa would completely send him to the political graveyard.
She said Mr Bwalya was surviving politically because of the name PF tag he was moving with member, adding that his decision to cross over to the opposition UPND marked the end of his political life.
“The adoption of Mr. Sampa as Kasama Central candidate has finished GBM completely in that region. People of Kasama want a representative who is politically stable. When we go for campaigns we shall tell the people of Kasama that GBM thought the people of Kasama are his business or goods for him to push around in the manner he feels like,” said Ms. Phiri.
Ms. Phiri said the PF will not tolerate undisciplined officials undermining the operation of the party.
“We have time and again warned our members to exercise utmost loyalty to the leadership of the party in order to move in unison and for those who feel they are bigger than the party they will be treated in the same manner like GBM,” said Ms. Phiri.
She said the PF was a strong and well organised party and that it was the reason GBM could not let go of the Kasama seat.
“It’s not only in Kasama where we shall teach traitors a lesson; we shall teach Patrick Mucheleka a lesson too with our candidate George Mwamba Penda. We shall also go ahead and win the Solwezi West with our candidate Martin Mbaya. This team is unstoppable ahead of 2016 general elections,” said Ms. Phiri.
And Ms. Phiri said the PF will have a landslide victory in the 2016 polls because Zambia has no opposition with an agenda to do more than what the PF has done in the last four years they have been in Government.
She said the PF was game for the 2016 general elections because there was no opposition to stop the party from retaining power.
She said the current opposition was not inspiring and has failed to attract attention from the people of Zambia because they have no development agenda.
“We shall retain power next year without any difficulties because the people of Zambia have seen what we have done. There is nothing to worry about. We have no opposition in this country as all of them are just exercising and exhibiting their bitterness over the election of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu,” she said.
