LINDA Secondary School of Livingstone yesterday walloped Mpika Day 4-1 in their group B second match at the on-going Copa Coca-Cola Schools national football tournament played at Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) in Lusaka.
The Southern Province side that had lost their first match to Samfya via a 2-1 score line made sure they collected maximum points to revamp their hope of qualifying to the semi-finals.
Thomas Banda was the hero of the day for Linda for netting a hat-trick while Saineti Phiri put the icing on the cake.
Mpika Day’s consolation goal came through Emmanuel Kaulwa.
The other group B match saw Kaoma and Solwezi Technical match end in a barren draw.
Samfya and Solwezi Technical have four points while Linda has three, Kaoma two and Mpika is at 3rd.
In group A, Chongwe continued with their fine performance, beating Mitondo 2-1 in their second match.
By Press time, Chizongwe Technical was playing their second game against Mungwi Technical.
The matches are being played under a Round Robin system and will see the two top teams from each group advance to the next round.
Today’s fixtures will see Linda clash with Kaoma while Chongwe faces Mungwi .
