Lungu calls for calm and unity in PF

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has advised Patriotic Front members to remain calm, united and embrace new members in the ruling party.

He said the PF was one solid family that freely welcomes everyone equally without exception.

President Lungu said this at Teja Executive Lodge in Mansa on Saturday night during a fundraising dinner organized by the PF Luapula Provincial committee.

He called on party members to continue with the ideology of serving the poor on which the party was founded.

Mr Lungu said the PF had no money but friends that supported the party. He urged party members not to listen to people who were politicking but continue focusing on growing the party.

Mr. Lungu advised PF members to conduct themselves accordingly to the wishes of late President Michael Sata ‘s vision of peace in the party.

And Luapula Province Patriotic Front chairperson Nixon Chilangwa said the Patriotic Front in the province wanted to be self-sustaining.

He said the party in the province had so far acquired land on which it wanted to put up the provincial office and indicated that by December the party will invite the party president to lay a foundation stone.

Mr Chilangwa who is Kawambwa Central Member of Parliament told President Lungu that the party in the area was ready for the 2016 general election. He said the task for the party in the province was to ensure that out of the 500,000 targeted voters in the province, 400, 000 votes should be for the PF.

Mr Chilangwa called on people in the province to vote for the PF in 2016 saying there could not be sustainable development if people kept on changing leaders. – ZANIS
