PATRIOTIC Front Bwacha ward councillor Jack Mwale has disclosed that his ward has received funding for street lights in Bwacha township and the project has reached an advanced stage.
And Mr. Mwale has called on Asphalt Roads Zambia to expedite the road works in his ward before the rainy season.
Mr. Mwale, who did not disclose the amount, said the money has been allocated following the application for money from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The civic leader was optimistic that the development will reduce other negative and anti-social vices such as crime and teenage immorality.
Recently, Bwacha was home to a spate of violent attacks on residents by unknown people who took advantage of the absence of street lights during night time.
The attacks raised fear in people especially those that were doing night shift duties.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mwale has called on Asphalt Roads Zambia to expedite the road works in the ward before the rainy season.
And when contacted for comment on the roads project, Asphalt Roads Zambia site manager Jared Musonda declined to comment but referred all queries to Roads Development Agency (RDA) Central region engineer Emmanuel Kanguma.
