‘Dismantle the fountain of evil’

THE acquital of former president Rupiah Banda in the Nigerian oil case is a victory against a small group of individuals operating as a fountain of evil which has over the years been propagating hatred, slander, retribution and vengeance, civil rights activist Brebner Changala has said.

Mr Changala said the fountain of evil that has assembled Zambia’s seemingly intelligent people and politicians had been tolerated for far too long and Zambians must rise and reject its agenda by dismantling the cartel.

Reacting to the acquittal of former president Rupiah Banda by Magistrate Joshua Banda on Monday, Mr Changala said the former president was a victim of an organised and well-orchestrated hate machinery assembled by a clique of individuals, which he termed the fountain of evil.

He said it was out of hatred and malice that the clique hurriedly organised the removal of former president Banda’s immunity and commenced his malicious prosecution with the sole aim of destroying him permanently.

Mr Changala said it was not surprising that the harassment of former presidents in Zambia was being perpetrated by a small group of individuals whose main desire was to govern the country through the back door.

He warned that the hatred, slander and malice being championed by the clique desiring to govern the country by proxy would never take the fountain of evil anywhere because the power of love often transcended all human needs and evil schemes.

“Justice has prevailed over former president Rupiah Banda. It takes a life-time effort to build a character but it takes a matter of seconds for a reckless individual to destroy another man’s life and character. Rupiah Banda has been a victim of an organised and well-ochestrated hate machinery by a small group of individuals operating as a fountain of evil. Out of hatred, they hurriedly organised the removal of president Banda’s immunity and commenced a malicious prosecution in order to destroy him permanently. Is it anybody’s wonder that the harassment of former presidents is being done by the same small group of individuals whose main desire is to govern from the rear?” Mr Changala said.

Mr Changala said even in the midist of difficulties, where there was love, unity and peace, there was always a great nation.

He stated that the fountain of evil that had assembled the unsuspecting politicians and the elite was a threat to the peace and unity of the country and should not be allowed to continue sowing seeds of desponency among citizens.

Mr Changala stated that he would be happy if the clique was dismantled and replaced with love, peace, justice.

He called on the church and political party leaders to pray and exorcise the evil spirit of the individuals who had been holding government leaders hostage so that Zambians could live in peace, unity and harmony as opposed to hatred and acrimony.

“This small group which operates as a fountain of evil has been using hate speech, slander, retribution and vengeance as their modus operandi to capture the presidency.

One day, those who have been aggrieved by this group will rise and fight for their space and there shall be bloodshed. I call upon the church and political leaders to exorcise the evil spirit of these individuals so that we can live in peace and harmony.

No one individual must have more rights than the other but we are all equal as children of God and citizens of this country,” Mr Changala said.
