“Wynter Kabimba anti-democracy”

Rainbow Party leader Wynter Kabimba has proved to be an enemy of democracy by promoting socialism,  says Evangelical Youth Alliance International president Reverend Moses Lungu.

Socialism is a way of organizing a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individuals and companies.

And Christian Democratic Party president Dan Pule says a free market economy was best for Zambia as it promoted self-reliance and people participation in the economy of the country.

In an interview with the Daily Nation yesterday, Rev Lungu advised Zambians against voting for a socialist in the next election because the system was not the best for Zambia.

He said Mr. Kabimba and the Rainbow Party were enemies of the people of Zambia, because socialism did not in any way promote people’s participation in the growth of the economy of the country.

“And this is what I want the people of Zambia to realise that voting for Mr. Kabimba will not be in the best interest of the people of Zambia. For instance those running businesses will have to close down because Government will have a major say on the way the economy would be run. It will not be market-driven,” said Rev. Lungu.

And Dr. Pule said if elected into government, his party would continue with the free market policies because he wanted the people of Zambia to run their own economy through empowerment.

He explained that the role of his government would be to create an enabling environment for individuals and the private sector to participate in the economic development of the country.

“If we form government next year , we shall promote the free market economy because our interest is to see people running the economy of the country. We want to do away with the export of raw materials because there is no value you add to the country’s economy.

“Exporting raw materials is creating jobs in foreign lands where you export those things; so our policy as CDP is to ensure that we add value to products. We want to export finished products to create decent jobs and revive the economy of the country,” said Dr. Pule.

He said he understood the economy of the country and what needed to be done in order to redeem the economy through free market promotion, adding that going the socialist way would not help the nation at all.

Lunacy at its best. Not long ago the Post went on about kabimba owning a game farm replete with giraffes and stuff. How does this Jurassic park marry his capitalist tendencies with socialism?
