‘All that glitters is not gold’

Editor,

“Not all that glitters is gold”. It is unfortunate that all this is happening while many have envied the riches of some people but now we to know how their wealth was acquired. I have had respect for some of them but after what has happened especially the insults hurled at President Lungu I find it hard to buy one newspaper. “He who digs a pit that his friend should fall in it, falls therein himself”. Zambians have witnessed how late Chiluba was demonized yet culprits are among us.

Inonge Wina, role model to  Zambian women

Editor,

In Zambia we never knew that women could lead the nation, but for the hardworking Vice President Inonge Wina is showing Zambians through her hardwork that we are all vital in the African continent and beyond. This is a lesson to everyone that all lazy women will be sitting back and watch from a  distance while we see other hardworking women moving forward. Today we have leaders like Stella Libongani the Inspector General of Police and some ministers to show that women are humans that can work as  men. We can do it and we have done it. Thumbs up to our women leaders and May God bless you all.

Some employers exploiting workers

Editor,

Employees are exploited with slavery conditions of service by companies and few selfish individuals are shielding the plunderers of Government resources in the name of management buyouts (MBO). Their days are numbered  and the lid will soon blow off and the law will visit them soon.

 We need each other

Editor,

We need the old, middle and younger groups in society to co-exist for purposes of experience, skills and wisdom exchange. Please my dear fellow patriotic Zambians, may we really work together. God had reasons to place us in this beloved nation.

 Undress saggers as well

Editor,

Personally I have no kind words for both men and women who dress indecently. We are not living in pre-colonial days when there were no clothes. The youths that undressed that half- naked woman in Kabwe should also extend this gesture to those male youths who sag. If not then let them stop because that would be viewed as being selective. There is an adage: you are what you wear; show me your friend and I will tell you what you are.

What has happened to MultiChoice, ZNBC, Post 1994 pact?

Editor,

I wonder if the 1994 Multichoice, ZNBC and the Post agreement will ever be terminated. It was signed under the then Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Mr Kelly Walubita. Multichoice general manager Matthews Higgins and ZNBC senior staff  later signed with the Post; ZNBC got 50percent shares in Multichoice and the Post has got 25percent  shares (Education Post 8th March 2003). The agreement was for ZNBC  TV to air programmes so that viewers must buy and subscribe to Gtv and DStv. ZNBC  TV has stopped airing ABN, Sandown, CFI Movies, series, soap operas, time for music, Straight Talk Africa, Opprah Winfrey show, Vibe, Appollo Club, generations, Egoli, Passions, No one but You, Family Pride, Soul food, girlfriend, Empire Road, Counter Strike, The A Team, MacGyver, Falcon Crest, Raw, WCW,UEFA, EPL, Europa, FA, Smackdown, Tennis. We miss Gtv and TV Africa.

Under-performing  Chipolopolo

Editor,

The Chipolopolo Boys are under-performing. Honestly, how can the former champions lose to a team like Malawi? It is very discouraging when you look at how Government spends a lot of money to sponsor the team. Something needs to be done to improve the way our national team is performing or may be government should consider investing in other sports that will be beneficial to the rest of the country. Let us remove politics from sports and do the right thing.
