MMD has finally expelled suspended deputy national secretary Chembe Nyangu and former national Secretary Muhabi Lungu.
According to the resolutions made yesterday in a meeting which took the whole day at the party secretariat, Mr. Nyangu and Mr. Lungu are no longer MMD members.
Others expelled are Faustina Sinyangwe, Watson Mtonga, and former ambassador Mary Musenge.
The NEC has also resolved to bring back into the party’s national executive former national chairperson Kabinga Pande, Lieutenant General Shikapwasha and Kenneth Chipungu.
The party has also given an olive branch to former Minister of Finance Situmbeko Musokotwane and his counterparty for commerce Felix Mutati to reconcile with the party.
The meeting also resolved not to expel Ms Annie Chungu stripped her off her NEC position.
The meeting also assigned party President Nevers Mumba to find ways the party could reconcile with the former President Rupiah Banda. The NEC also resolved that it would no longer be into any working alliance with the Patriotic Front because of dishonest conduct shown so far.
When contacted for a comment party spokesperson Raphael Nakachinda said party president Dr. Nevers Mumba would issue a statement on Tuesday.
