Facebook relationship lands man in court for adultery

A LUSAKA man who developed a steamy affair with a married woman on Face book has been dragged to court for adultery.

Liswani Malambo, 31, of Chilanga sued Sydney Ngoma, 34, of Kafue Estates for committing adultery with his wife Sharon Malambo.

Malambo told Senior Court Magistrate Sarah Nyendwa sitting at Chawama Local Court that he never touched his wife’s phone but after he became suspicious he  decided to check it.

He then found a message from Ngoma and later Sharon admitted that she was having an affair with Ngoma whom she said stayed in Chelstone.

In defence, Ngoma said that mid last year he saw a message on face book from Sharon saying ‘hi’ and that she told him that she will be going to Kafue with her friend.

He explained that they  later met in Kafue and a relationship developed.

Ngoma added that in November 2014 Sharon sent him a photo of her child on facebook and later told him that her husband wanted to see him.

Ngoma further stated that Malambo told him that he should compensate him failure to which bailiffs will take his property or he will take him to court.

Sharon admitted that she fell in love with Ngoma after they communicated on face book and started meeting in Kafue where they  were making love.

Passing judgment, Magistrate Nyendwa said that Ngoma readily admitted that he was making love with Sharon who is a married woman.

She said that ignorance is no defence and wondered why Ngoma did not try to find out where Sharon stays if he did not know she was married.

She ordered Ngoma to compensate Malambo with K10, 000 in monthly installments of K500 with effect from June 30.
