IT IS too early to start criticizing the Republican President Edgar Lungu that he has sidelined Eastern Province but instead the people in the area should exercise patience, says provincial MMD youth chairman, Cheembe Daka.
Mr Daka was of view the that people should give the President time to complete his work and should stop judging him now.
He said concerns by the Easterners that they were sidelined in participating in the governance of the country should have waited to give chance to the Government to play its role.
He said the people of that region should support the PF in all the elections because there was hope that the people of Zambia would benefit and enjoy the national cake equally. Mr Daka said there was need for the people in the area to rally behind Ms Dora Siliya so that she completed all the development she had started.
Some sections in Eastern Province last week expressed concern that President Lungu should consider including people from Eastern Province in his Government because there was a feeling that the people in the region have been sidelined in the governance of the country.
Last week Eastern Development Foundation (EDF) claimed most of the positions in Government were being given to people from the other nine regions while Eastern Province had not been considered in a number of senior Government appointments.
Foundation chairman Kelvin Chulu said almost all the departments were headed by citizens from other regions and yet those from the region were not being considered for the same positions in other provinces.
