ZAMBIA yesterday beat Ghana 3-0 in the semi-final Plate of the Council of Southern Africa Association (COSAFA) played at Royal Bofokeng Stadium in South Africa.
The Chipolopolo comfortably qualified to the final Plate to be played tomorrow, with Green Buffaloes midfielder Allan Mukuka voted as the Man of the Match.
Chipolopolo mounted pressure on the West Africans, resulting into Ghana making silly mistakes that created several corner kicks.
Zambia’s opener came in the 24th minute when Mwape scored a rebound after Nathan Sinkala’s shot from Jackson Mwanza’s corner kick was put away by the keeper. Chipolopolo added their second goal in the 29th minute through Aaron Katebe.
With Ghana losing track of the game, Zambia manoeuvred freely in the Black Stars territory.
Skipper Sinkala sealed off Zambia’s victory for the evening in the 42nd minute after Allan Mukuka pass nicely found his left foot.
In the second half, Ghana came in full force showing some urgency at goal but Kennedy Mweene was alert. In the 70th minute Janza substituted Mwape for striker Patson Daka. He also substituted Jackson Mwanza for Kennedy Mudenda.
