PF NEEDS ANOTHER TERM, SAYS KAINGU

THE Patriotic Front (PF) Government should be given another term in office so that it can continue with the vision of the late President Michael Sata, Education minister Michael Kaingu has said.

Mr. Kaingu said the PF should continue with the developmental projects left by the late Mr. Sata without interruptions so that they could be completed.

He said the Kazungula bridge project was among the many development projects that the PF Government had put in place adding that such projects should be allowed to continue smoothly.

Dr Kaingu said this when he paid a courtesy call on Kazungula acting district commissioner Bbaro Goretti at her office.

The minister also thanked the late Mr. Sata for coming up with the new districts for the purpose of achieving development in the areas.

Mr. Kaingu added that everyone was now enjoying seeing the massive projects coming up in these newly created districts across the country.

He disclosed that Western Province had received a total of $29.5 million to go towards the alleviation of water problems in the province, adding that he would want the same to happen in Southern Province.

Mrs. Goretti said currently a new police station with ten housing units for the officers were under construction and was expected to be completed by December this year.

She said works on the civic centre and administration block which was at slab level would be completed by March 2016.

On the Kazungula Bridge, Mrs. Goretti said that once completed, the bridge would enhance the country’s economy among other benefits.

She also said the project, which would take four to five years to be completed, would employ more locals in the area.
