THE National Revolution Party (NRP) has called on Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) director general Rosewin Wandi to resign from her position, citing inconsistency in the handling corruption cases.
This is contained in a letter signed by party president Cosmo Mumba and made available to the media yesterday. Reverend Mumba warned of countrywide demonstrations if the ACC director was not going to resign. He accused the ACC of leaking highly classified information to media houses, hence putting the security of the Nation at high risk. “You have openly demonstrated that you are not only a danger to yourself but also to the public, hence putting our national security at high risk,” the letter read in part.
Dr Mumba accused the ACC of wasting taxpayer’s money by failing to establish concrete evidence to take matters for prosecution as established by law. He said the ACC had become a scarecrow to the public due to the selective and biased manner in which they handled high profile cases.
“You have openly demonstrated that your office has now become a scarecrow to the public due to the fact that you are selective and biased in the whole entire manner you handle highly profiled cases which again does not bring forth reasonable and tangible results as expected from you in tandem with the law of our land,” Dr Mumba said.
The NRP leader said Ms Wandi’s conduct had so far shown that she had a personal agenda rather than the professional obligation as entrusted to her by Zambians.
