THE Zambia Motor Sport Association (ZMSA) has a budget deficit of K90, 000 to stage the 2015 Zambia International Rally that raves off on May 15 to 17 in Lusaka, says vice president Sam Ching’ambu.
Ching’ambu said that the association has raised K410, 000 out of the budgeted K500,000.
“We have a budget deficit of K90, 000 to enable us successfully host the three days event. The targeted budget is K500, 000 and I am hopeful it will be met,” he said.
Meanwhile, Manzi Natural Valley unveiled the 2015 sponsorship deal of K10, 000 bottled mineral water to cover for all the activities this year.
Manzi sales and marketing manager Jason Thormcrolo said the company was ready to add more in case of a shortage.
“This sponsorship deal is not limited as we are ready to add more if need arises. We will continue to partner with the association and assist in making sure all the rally events this year are a success, “he said.
And Automotive Equipment limited managing director Deepak Patel who are the main sponsors of the Zambia International Rally thanked the companies for coming on board to making sure the event was successfully hosted.
“We are making progress in meeting all the requirements needed to host the event. This has been made possible because of the contributions from different companies. I have no doubt this event will be a success, “he said.
Twenty-nine local drivers have entered for the event which includes Mohammad Essa, Farook Ticklay, Jassey ,Muna Singh and the Chulu brothers.
The Automotive Equipment International Rally which is one of the qualifying rallies for the Africa Rally championship.
