ZANACO Football Club has attributed its current good performance to teamwork and the sheer desire to amass points.
Coach Numba Mumamba said it was his team’s aim to continue with the march to glory because players understood the task ahead of them.
Mumanba observed that other teams would want to reduce the gap at the summit but he was optimistic that his boys would manage to contain the pressure.
“My boys are capable of containing the pressure because they have a task to ensure that the team is on course to lifting the league title.
“Our performance so far has been good and we want to keep on working hard to ensure that we continue winning. We know the competition is becoming stiff but we will continue to work hard,” he said.
He praised his players who he said were working as a team to achieve its goal of winning matches.
“Our strength as a club is that players work together as a unit. The players are working as a team and that has helped us a lot. That is why we are in fine form,” he said. The bankers are at the summit of the league with 14 points after walloping NAPSA Stars at the weekend 4-0. At the start of the season, sections of Zanaco fans questioned the appointment of Mumamba as coach especially after the defeat against Power Dynamos in the Charity Shield.
But Mumamba who seemed to be of little value to some has proved to be the cornerstone which builders rejected by bringing answers on the pitch.
