NKANA coach Beston Chambeshi yesterday redeemed himself by delivering the first win this season after his side beat National Assembly 1-0 in a match played at Woodlands stadium in Lusaka.
The Kitwe giants winning goal came in the 63rd minute through a header by Austin Muwowo after Djunese Kanda and Simon Bwalya’s kick was a dummy.
In the first half, Nkana dominated the match but struggled to score as a result of poor communication among the players.
This angered the supporters who started to pour insults on Chambeshi.
However, Nkana came back geared and terrorized the Assembly defence which led to the goal in the 63rd minute.
At Edwin Imboela stadium in Lusaka, Nkwazi registered another win when they surprisingly beat Red Arrows 2-0.
Nkwazi opened the score sheet in the 11th minute through a corner kick which was converted by Chipungu Musumba.
Arrows tried to equalize in the 21st minute through Francis Kombe but his cross went over the bar.
In the second half, the two teams exchanged ball positions but Arrows defence suffered miss-communication among the players leading to Bronson Chama being handed a red card.
However, Nkwazi went 10 men down when Mwape Kasongo was given a red card in the 81st minute for giving a gesture to the Arrows supporters.
Nkwazi dominated the last 10 minutes of the game with midfilder Gilbert Tembo scoring the second goal in the 82nd minute.
At Kitwe’s Arthur Davis Stadium, Power Dynamos white-washed the Hector Chilombo tutored side Napsa stars 3-0.
Power that were ejected from the CAF championship league last weekend saw Felix Sunzu scored a brace in the 19th and 39th minutes of the game.
In second half, Napsa tried to dominate the first few minutes but failed to convert scoring opportunities into goals.
Power however took hold of the game and added a third goal in the 67th minute through Jimmy Ndhlovu.
