Lungu gives life to development projects

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has said his government will resuscitate all the development projects because once completed, the projects would greatly improve people’s lives.

Mr Lungu said projects such as the road rehabilitation and water reticulation were important projects that needed to be completed to improve people’s lives in various parts of the country.

The President, was speaking yesterday at Lothian House in Kitwe when he met Patriotic Front (PF) cadres.

He was accompanied by Agriculture Minister Given Lubinda, Tourism Minister Jean Kapata and Copperbelt Minister Mwenya Musenge,

“Some people have been celebrating that some development projects have stalled and we have failed as PF government, but let me tell you that we will resuscitate these developmental projects which have stalled, especially projects such as road rehabilitation and water reticulation.

“We are a government of the people and so we should continue to work on projects that would improve people’s lives,” Mr Lungu said.

He also warned that he would not hesitate to flush out hypocrites in his government, especially in the civil service.

“There are people who are working in the civil service, in the PF government. They are serving in the PF Government, but their ideologies are elsewhere. We will not hesitate to flush out such kind of people because they are hypocrites,” He said.

On his health, President Lungu said he was fine and that Zambians should not get worried when some people try to gain political mileage out of his health.

“When am sick, i will always tell you that am sick because no one is immortal, we all fall sick at one time or the other. People should just ignore those trying to make political mileage out of my health,” he said.

President Lungu earlier visited the funeral house of the late PF Member of the Central Committee Willie Nsanda and also laid  a wreath at his grave site at Nkana East cemetery where he was buried. And President Lungu has advised PF cadres to promote unity and embrace those coming from opposition political parties so that the ruling party could continue to grow bigger.

He showered praises on Kitwe District Commissioner (DC) Chanda Kabwe for being a loyal, mature and humble young man who was not being misled by any one in the party.

“This young man, I mean the Kitwe DC is a mature, loyal and humble young man who came to me when I was made General Secretary to tell me that he was close and loyal to the former Secretary General Wynter Kabimba because he was the Secretary General of the party.

“He told me that now that I was the SG of the party, he will respect and support me. So do not tell lies about each other, but remain royal and committed to the party,” President Lungu said.
