PF warns opposition over by-election

THE Patriotic Front (PF) will show the opposition and those against the leadership of President Edgar Lungu how popular the ruling party is next month, Lusaka Province youth chairman Kennedy Kamba has said.

He said PF was not for sale and those wishing it ‘dead’ would be shocked because the party and President Lungu will remain in power beyond 2016,

In an interview, Mr. Kamba said the opposition and those wishing the PF to fail should realise that Zambians were the main stakeholder in the governance of the nation and not them.

He said wishing someone failure was not part of the PF Government, adding that the ruling party would live on now and beyond 2016 because its vision was to better the lives of the people of Zambia.

“Our vision is to better the lives of many poor Zambians and no wonder we are a pro-poor policy party.

‘‘It should therefore be made known that the PF will not be left in the hands of few opportunists. The PF is not for sale,” he said.

Mr. Kamba said the opposition should stop being bitter at the successes scored by the PF, adding that President Lungu and his Government were doing well in reducing poverty and the unemployment levels the people of Zambia were facing.

“They are claiming that the PF is not popular, we shall show them that we are reorganizing for 2016 by winning all the three parliamentary by-elections.

‘‘We have by-elections in Masaiti, we have by-elections in Nsenga Hill and we have by-elections in Chawama and I am hopeful that all these vacant seats will come to the PF because we are a party of choice,” said Mr. Kamba.

He implored all party structures in Lusaka and the entire country to safeguard the party and remain firm to record victory in the mobilisation and running of the party at all levels.

Mr Kamba warned against schemes  against certain PF members in the party, saying they would not be tolerated.
