PATRIOTIC Front (PF) secretary general Davis Chama says the party has fielded the best candidates in the coming parliamentary by-elections in all the three constituencies and nothing will stop them from scooping the seats.
In an interview, Mr. Chama said the main preoccupation of the PF now was to sell its candidates to the electorates in all the affected constituencies.
He said the PF had the best candidates ahead of next month’s by-elections, adding that Zambians needed quality leaders whose preoccupation would be changing lives of the poor people.
“PF is winning the election. We have no march to worry about. We have done our homework and we are working with the people of Zambia in all those constituencies affected.
We have no pressure at all. The people of Zambia are able to see what we are doing and I am sure that so far they are happy with the progress the PF Government has recorded,” said Mr. Chama.
Mr. Chama said the PF was the only organised political which allowed the people of Zambia participate fully without any segregation.
He, however, said members of the PF should not relent but work extra hard to win the Chawama, Masaiti and Senga Hill constituencies because the opposition was contesting too.
“I have to remind our members throughout the country that hard work is the only way we shall win the election.
I implore them to work hard, go flat out and sell the PF message rather than waiting for the actual date,” he said.
And Mr. Chama has expressed happiness at the attendance of opposition political party leaders during this year’s Youth Day commemorations.
He said the attendance by the opposition UPND, MMD (both faction), NAREP, UNIP and the PF was a sign of maturity and acceptance that there was only one leader and Government in power.
Mr. Chama said it was gratifying that opposition political party members rose beyond party politics and look at the nation as their agenda.
