NATIONAL Assembly Football Club are chasing after Nkana FC midfielder Joseph Milanzi’s signature ahead of the 2015 MTN/FAZ league that kicks off on March 14.
Milanzi is currently training with the Parliamentarians with a possibility of joining the club.
Coach George Kapembwa said he was eyeing enterprising midfielder Milanzi to beef up their squad as they begin the MTN/FAZ league title chase.
“I can confirm that Nkana midfielder Joseph has been training with us for a fortnight now with a possibility of joining Assemblies,’’ he said.
Kapembwa said Milanzi was willing to join the National Assembly outfit and that they were just finishing up with paper work before he signs a contract.
“Last season we lost a number of players mid season and we are trying to acquire new players before the league begins,’’ he said.
Kapembwa said that the Parliamentarians were this season targeting a fourth place finish to book them a slot to play in the Barclays Cup. “This season we are not leaving any stone unturned, we are not playing in the league as mere participants but competitors,’’ he said.
Kapembwa added that despite finishing on 9th position he was proud of his players because some left the club for greener pastures before the season ended.
“We might have finished on ninth position but I am proud of my boys because I lost my entire defence department who went to seek greener pastures,’’ he said.
