BANK ABC yesterday unveiled a K300, 000 sponsorship deal with Green Buffaloes Football Club ahead of the 2015 MTN/FAZ super league season.
Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony, Bank ABC manging director Clergy Simatayamba said out of the K300, 000 the club will be entiled to K3, 000 monthly on away games for 10 months torwads fuel expenses.
Simatayamba said the remaining K270,000 would be in form of soccer kit and pledged that the bank would be more invloved in providing physical support at all the club games.
And deputy army commander Major General Topply Lubaya assured the sponsors that there will be no excuse for poor performance in 2015, adding that the club has reflected and realised what led to their poor performance in the previous season.
General Lubaya told the sponsors that the dismal performance of the club during the last season could be attributed to a whole range of factors but insisted that the club has accepted that by-gones were by-gones and had opened a new page for the forthconing season.
“The command would like to assure Bank ABC that this season the team will perform above our expectations following the acquiring of the most crowned coach Wedson Nyirenda and also the recruitment of the new and young players,” he said. General Lubaya said Zambia Army was pleased with Bank ABC’s gesture and assured the sponsors that the sports kit would go a long way in addressing the challenges which the club was facing.
“We are looking forward to our continued partnership in the running of our club,” he said.
The K270, 000 balance inlcuded 100 soccer balls, 35 pack bags, 45 Copa Mundial boots, 25 designers ‘boot’, 70 shin guards, 85 replicas and sets of training kit. Other items included 35 pants, 35 ankle guards, training bids, goalkeeper gloves, football jerseys, socks and relaxing slippers.
