TWENTY-ONE drivers have entered for this weekend’s first round of the 2015 national rally championship, Zambia Motor Sport president Sam Ching’ambu has revealed.
Speaking when three firms unveiled a total of K188, 418 of sponsorship towards this year’s national rally championship, Ching’ambu said drivers will now be receiving cash prizes after an event.
The Copperbelt-based Gomes Haulage Company donated K120, 000 annual sponsorship, Kelvin Exhaust System donated K10, 000 and CC Systems has given K58, 418, 99 to the association.
Gomes representative, Balveen Singh, told a media briefing in Lusaka yesterday that the K120, 000 would be broken down into K15, 000 per event.
She said the overall winner per event would get K4000, runner up K3000, third K2000 and fourth K1000.
“The fifth winner will be getting K500 while winners in class A, B and C will be getting K1000 each. Power sate 1 and 2 will be getting K500 and highest placed team will be getting K500,” she said.
Ching’ambu said the K10, 000 from Kelvin Exhaust System will be used to facilitate the work of scruiteneers for all the cars.
He said K58, 418, 99 from CC Systems will be used to provide handset radio sets for the organizing committee.
