And Mr Kabwe has applauded all the men and women working for private and public radio stations countrywide.
According to a statement issued to Daily Nation, Mr Kabwe urged radio workers to keep up with their good work despite working under challenging circumstances.
“The radio is an important component of human life because it reaches the ordinary and the special people in all spheres of life on planet earth,” he said.
He said without radio stations life could be boring because information would not be disseminated for its intented purpose of informing, educating and entertaining the masses inspite of their social back ground.
Mr Kabwe said Government programs and projects would not be highlighted without the participation of radio stations which was an important part of the Government in providing checks and balances.
“The Government cannot work alone without the involvement of the media and radio stations and have proved to be the great source of information to the citizenry at all levels without fear or favour,” he said. He said radio acted as the voice for the voiceless because it catered for all the social and economic needs of the people from different walks of life.
