IT WILL not be easy to find a player of Ronald Kampamba’s age, experience and quality, Nkana football club head coach Beston Chambeshi has said.
Chambeshi said although the team was proud of having produced such an outstanding footballer for export, the team will greatly miss him.
Kampamba, 20, has signed a lucrative three-and-half-year contract with the Egyptian giants, Wadi Degla, for an undisclosed fee.
“It is indeed wonderful for the team to have produced a quality player who has been attracting foreign clubs, attention. Kampamba has proved that he is a good player,” he said. Chambeshi said the team has been left with no choice but find a replacement for Kampamba who will be away for a few years.
He said with or without Kampamba the team must move on and concentrate on performing better like it has always done in the past.
Chambeshi said the team shall endeavour to remain one of the best teams in Zambia and compete favourably in the 2015 MTN/FAZ super league.
“We shall maintain the same level of good football because we still have the same players apart from Kampamba. So the only challenge which our technical bench has it to find Kampamba’s replacement,” he said.
Chambeshi said he was confident that Nkana’s technical bench will do a good job ahead of the 2015 MTN/FAZ super league and the Barclays Cup.
Wadi Degla stated that Kampamba has the opportunity for a European club attachment should he impress them in his first season in Cairo.
“The player will join Wadi Degla FC, starting from January 2015 and will be able to move to Lierse S.K in case he shows commitment to training and matches in the 2015/2016 season,” Degla’s general manager, Hazem Khayrat, said.
