Government should make health centres in Zambia more accessible for persons with disabilities, says Disability Rights Watch (DRW) country coordinator Bruce Chooma.
Mr Chooma said persons with disability had for a long time been having difficulties in accessing proper health care services due to lack of ideal facilities for them.
“Persons with disability have for a long time been having difficulties to access proper health care services due to lack of facilities to help them access the facilities, ‘’he said.
Mr Chooma said persons with disability had the same opportunities and benefits when it came to services at health centres, adding that without proper facilities it was difficult to know exactly what problems they encountered in their conditions.
Mr Chooma however emphasized that Government must consult on what kind of medical facilities were needed and for what kind of disability condition in order for such persons to access full health services at every health centre across the country.
