HONOUR Janza is satisfied with Sunday’s draw against DR Congo in their 2015 AFCON Group B opening game.
Zambia squandered a 1-0 halftime lead to finish 1-1 with the Leopards in Ebebiyin.
The result has also left all the teams in Group B with one point, heading into their penultimate preliminary round of fixtures on January 22.
“We will use it (the draw) as a stepping stone for the other matches,” Janza said.
Zambia took the lead in the 2nd minute through Given Singuluma but DR Congo quickly recovered from the early setback to dictate the pace of the match led by Yannick Bolasie.
Bolasie was rewarded for his performance when he equalised in the 66th minute to see them share the points.
“The early goal was good for us because we knew that when DR Congo scored it was going to be difficult for us to come back,” Janza said. Sunday’s result has left Zambia, DR Congo, Cape Verde and Tunisia all tied on one point after they all recorded similar scorelines on match day one. The scenario means Zambia cannot afford another draw this Thursday when they face Tunisia at Ebebiyin in a match that will define their destiny in the competition. – MTNfootball.com
